Day Two: My Journey into Flower Photography

Yeah — you can’t change a wildlife photographer into a flower photographer in two days! I need to build up my core muscles. Lying down on the ground in strange positions takes more control than I realized!

Things I discovered:

  • Focus point is important. Even when the depth of field is so incredibly shallow, you need to pick the point of interest, or what draws your eye the most, very carefully. It might boil down to picking an individual stamen!

  • Tiny changes make huge differences! Don’t just shoot from the side and the in front — try for ALL angles!
